Since its establishment in 2021 in Abuja, Nigeria, Vernacular Heritage Initiative (VHI) has been at the forefront of championing the preservation, conservation, and management consulting of Nigeria's rich cultural heritage. Over the years, VHI has grown from a grassroots organization to a nationally recognized leader in heritage conservation, with a growing presence across Africa.
In its early years, VHI focused on building partnerships with local communities, government agencies, and international organizations to address the pressing challenges facing Nigeria's cultural heritage. Through collaborative efforts and innovative approaches, VHI laid the foundation for its mission to safeguard Nigeria's diverse vernacular heritage for future generations.
